We are officially one month into the new year and new decade. Now that we've wished everyone we know a Happy New Year, it's time to focus on our 2020 goals.
For StormFree, 2019 was our first full year of operation and it was a productive year for us. We built the majority of our EMM platform which is in testing, and we entered into a new partnership which allows us to pre-deploy our software on a new secure hardware offering. And to accommodate all of this, we have continued expanding our team and creating a culture of collaboration, motivation, and innovation.
Throughout 2019, we continued development with the open-source communication protocol Matrix and its flagship chat application, Riot.im. StormFree has been working with Matrix developers at New Vector to design a version of the Riot.im chat client that meets the highest enterprise security standards. Combined with a customized deployment of Matrix homeservers, this application embodies the values of freedom, interoperability, security, and user control that StormFree and New Vector share, all while improving upon data privacy. We continue work on these projects in the new year as we prepare to roll-out customized applications for cutting-edge secure smartphones.
Our new partnership with the manufacturers of a premier privacy-oriented smartphone is a great development for StormFree. In order to achieve the most secure communications possible, their enforced security policies, ease of use, and privacy-centric design is helping us build a quality product that also actively protect users. Recognizing that smartphones typically store information behind one single layer of relatively weak security, our host-agnostic EMM platform offerings have been selected as the trusted platform of choice to provide a remote layer of back-end connectivity and security. This new partnership and the ability to pre-deploy our software on these secure devices gives us the opportunity to receive direct feedback from real users for every release, which makes for more polished and targeted applications. This will allow us to focus on supporting a single device model with a manufacturer that can pre-install our applications and give us full OS control to minimize variables for EMM.
We continue to seek out partnerships that align with StormFree values which are to enable users to maintain control of their data without sacrificing security, scalability, and reliability. We have many projects that will come to fruition this year which will, obviously, spawn new projects and more blog posts. So we are ramping up our blogging, publishing twice a month with more posts about tools, offerings, business, and the business of breaches, along with updates on our projects and commentary on current events.
